Basilica of St. Clare (Santa Chiara Basilica) is a 13th century Romanesque landmark in Assisi Italy.  It is the resting place for St. Clare, one of St. Francis's followers.

Clare (1194-1253) was the founder of a group known as the "Poor Clares".

Like her friend, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Clare rejected her worldly possessions and adopted a life of poverty.
